It follows your face. A motor in the base turns the phone to keep you centred while you move around the room, which is the difference between filming a recipe or a workout single-handed and asking somebody to hold the camera.

The phone attaches magnetically and charges while it is up there, so a long shoot does not end on a flat battery, and a readout on the base shows the holder's own charge.
