It Takes Two - Nintendo Switch

A co-op game in the strictest sense: there is no single-player mode, and every level is built for two. Cody and May, a married couple on the verge of divorce, find themselves trapped inside the handmade dolls their daughter Rose made of them, and Dr. Hakim, a talking book on relationships, sets them tasks meant to repair the marriage on the way back.

Each level hands the pair new abilities that only work together, and side paths hide minigames where they compete instead. It won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021 and at the D.I.C.E. Awards.

Play on one console with a pair of Joy-Con or a controller each, across two linked consoles, or online, where the free Friend’s Pass lets a second player join without buying the game. Online play needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership. As the box says, part of the game has to be downloaded over the internet.
