Pokémon Violet - Nintendo Switch

Pokémon’s open-world generation, in its Violet edition. Paldea is one continuous region with no set route: from the academy at its heart you pick which Gym Leaders to challenge, which giant Titan Pokémon to track down and which bands of Team Star to break up, and the three stories converge at the finale.

Violet’s legendary is Miraidon, a sleek, futuristic Pokémon that carries you over land first, then across water and up cliff faces as the adventure opens up. This version’s Paldea leans toward the future: the school is Uva Academy, the professor is Turo, and its Paradox Pokémon are far-future relatives of familiar species.

Terastallizing turns a Pokémon crystalline and can change its type in the middle of a battle. Up to four friends can roam Paldea together online, and trades and battles work with Pokémon Scarlet.
